Bishop G.W. Frazier Sr. is a native of Terre Haute, Indiana. He was baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1963 at Bethlehem Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith. Bishop Frazier accepted the call to pastor Bethany Apostolic Church on March 1, 1980.

Bishop Frazier’s desire has always been to instill in the hearts of his parish a vision for ministry. His mission is to equip the saints with both natural and spiritual tools needed to reach the potential that God has deposited within them at spiritual birth. His vision is to see every idle hand employed in fruitful work that encompasses the physical, psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of life.

Throughout his ministry and community leadership, Bishop Frazier has been widely recognized for his impactful role in community restoration and offender re-entry support. He has provided counseling and guidance to individuals and families navigating life challenges, including marital counseling and support for those struggling with addiction and recovery. His compassionate approach has strengthened countless families and helped individuals rebuild stable, purpose-driven lives.

Bishop Frazier has also been a respected community voice in collaboration with local leadership and judicial systems, contributing to initiatives connected to drug court and offender rehabilitation efforts. He has worked alongside city leaders, including mayors and judges, offering insight and support regarding candidate readiness for reintegration into society. His advocacy has helped open doors for individuals to complete community service through church-based opportunities, creating structured pathways for accountability, restoration, and successful re-entry into the community.

In addition to these efforts, Bishop Frazier implemented a monthly “Soul Food Dinner” outreach initiative designed to bring together church members and the broader community in fellowship. These gatherings also served as a platform for local community partners and service providers to share resources, explain their services, and connect individuals and families with support systems available throughout the city. This initiative strengthened community engagement and expanded access to vital services in a welcoming and supportive environment.

His commitment to restoration and reconciliation has extended beyond Evansville, Indiana, reaching individuals and communities in surrounding areas through his ongoing influence and leadership.

Bishop Frazier has served on several committees and organizations within the community, including Counseling for Change and Embracing Offenders. He also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Evansville, where he earned his Master’s in Social Work.

Bishop Frazier is active in the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. (PCAF), where he serves on the Board of Bishops and as Assistant General Treasurer,

 

Bishop Frazier and his wife have shared 58 years of marriage and are the proud parents of three children: Gary, Eric, and April. They are blessed with nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
